Waldorf-Astoria El Conquistador Resort

Ahhhhhhh where do I begin.  We just got back from Puerto Rico last night and I'm exhausted.  Like most people I need a vacation after the vacation! Our trip was overall wonderful with a few bumps in the road including a trip to the hospital, a few family arguments & one vacation rental that was a mistake (saving that for another post).....but all-in-all we did have a great time.

Initially I had planned to blog during our trip so i could share it with you in real time and I had even begun some draft posts but we were seriously on-the-go constantly and away from Wi-fi half the time that it was nearly impossible.  If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or you are my friend on SnapChat, we were posting updates a lot but actually finding the time to sit down in front of my laptop and upload & edit pics was extremely difficult.  Blogging is definitely hard work if you are on vacation .....especially when you throw kids into the mix.

Not to mention the 5-Star resort we stayed at pictured above......was absolutely the most amazing place I have ever stayed.  I was so relaxed there that I couldn't bring myself to even open the laptop if I wanted to.  I know ...SHAME ON ME!  I love so much reading travel posts from my favorite bloggers but I totally give them a ton of credit for being able to get it done while traveling!

But ...... if you ever happen to travel to Puerto Rico I highly recommend staying at El Conquistador in Fajardo.  We stayed here during the second half of our trip and this resort is actually part of  Waldorf-Astoria/Hilton Resorts so you know the experience there will be world-class!

The staff there was so attentive and they treat every guest there like royalty.  The grounds were extremely clean at all times.

There are tons of shops and activities and if you have little ones be sure to check out El Coqui Water Park!

The breakfast buffet at Las Brisas was unbelievable! 5-Star Dining at it's finest!  There are breathtaking cliff-side Ocean Views from almost everywhere in the resort as well as a tropical garden in the center of the resort.

I cannot even say enough about how wonderful this place is!  You could seriously spend your entire trip never leaving the resort and be completely satisfied! At the bottom of the cliff there is a ferry which takes you over to Palomino Island where we spent our last day hanging out on the beach with the kids.

This was our first time in Palomino and this is definitely one of my favorite places in Puerto Rico.  The ferry ride over is only about 15 minutes and they go back and forth throughout the day.  Once you get there there are tons of things to do all day long.  Water sports, horse back riding, mini golf....you name it! There's also a bocce court and a life-size chess board you can play chess on!

If you need a nice cool tropical drink check out Mino's and I recommend getting the "Palomino Adventure"...Delicious! If you are an animal lover like me......you will love seeing all the domesticated iguanas at the Iguana Cafe and all over the grounds! Antonio was "vlogging" and videotaping....as well as chasing iguanas the entire time!

Our last day spent here was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and El Conquistador exceeded my expectations on every level.  I'm back at work this morning and I miss it so much now that I'm already planning our next trip to this fantastic place!  Thank you to all of the staff at El Conquistador for making this experience so unforgettable!

  1. I'm visiting from Paula's blog hop. That resort looks amazing! My husband lived in Puerto Rico for two years and he's been itching to go back. We may just have to plan a trip there after seeing those photos.

  5. I love when hotels and resorts have a waterpark – that is so much fun for everyone…especially when you're visiting someplace hot. As a foodie, you really have me curious about that breakfast buffet at Las Brisas.
